About

I’ve been building brands and reputations for more than 20 years, creating and narrating addictive stories long before storytelling became a marketing “thing”!

I started my career doing crisis and corporate comms, winning a PR Week Sword of Excellence Award for a lobbying campaign for Talisman Energy, and headed up the work which led to the Food Standards Agency relocating to Aberdeen.

I was then taken on by Tennent’s to handle corporate and investor relations for the sale of the company. After being bought by Interbrew, I joined the brand team where I was promoted three times and helped deliver award winning marketing activity before joining Whyte & Mackay as part of the senior management team which made The Dalmore and Jura the fastest growing malts in the world.

I then took a career break, becoming a stay at home dad and dabbling in the world of freelance, until I joined the University of Edinburgh to manage global communications for a project researching how the environment can be used to alleviate poverty in developing countries. I am now on contract working with the Scottish Government’s Economy, Rural and Environment team.
